What began a few years ago as a Knitting Blog has devolved into something far more sinister. "She was a lovely girl, prone to frequent fits of tornadic creativity..."
I didn't go to college until 6 years later, and I had quite a few friends that had hair just like this. This proves my theory that it takes 5 to 10 years for fashion trends to migrate north!
Did I know you were a Sig Kap? I was almost a Sigma Kappa - it was between that and Kappa Delta, and it was a tough decision. My cousin, though, is a Sigma Kappa. We rushed at the same time, were at the same two parties final night, and made opposite decisions.
I'm very much anti-sorority. I saw some SEVERE hazing where I went to Uni, and it completely turned me off. All my friends joined Alpha Phi Omega, the service fraternity, and I didn't even do that. I really didn't like being told what to do and when.
The only Greek society I belonged to was Sigma Tau Delta...English Honor Society. Small but intellectually mighty.
I could find you right off the bat. Funny, I also recognized some people I went to high school with (isn't Valerie Fisher one of the pledges?) and people I think I had class with.
Thought so! I once threw up in the back of her parents' station wagon when I got carsick. I always appreciated the fact that she didn't ostracize me as a result. I'm pretty positive that I recognize a few other people from JC, but I cannot come up with their names. Bid Day 1990, isn't that the year that things went horribly awry and some kid died on an electricity pole?! I must say, I always thought the Sigma Kappas I knew were nice. Not like some of the other houses where everyone was an ice cold bitch to us non-Greeks.
If I hadn't gone EK I wouldn't have gone Greek at all, it was almost the anti-sorority sorority. Sure, there were some of those dingbats who thought they were better than everybody else, but the girls I was friends with were cool.
My roommate was Amanda Barnes, I think she was from JC. Did you know her?
The Bid Day Bash disaster was my freshman year (the year before - I pledged as a sophomore), some punk ass local high school kid climbed the utility pole and died, and that was the end of Bid Day Bash. Phi Kaps got sued because they sponsored Bid Day Bash and had to leave campus for 5 years or something. I still remember the smell of Greektown the next day.
Also abolished that year were keg parties and Little Sisters. I feel lucky to have gotten there in time to experience the end of an era.
Hey there, I'm Sarah! Part-Time Stay-At-Home Mom, Full- Time Evil Genius. Matriarch of the World-Famous Ape Squad (Beebie, Ry the Pie, and Tito).
Mainly, I write about my knitting and the things that interrupt it - kids, depression, poop, and my everyday struggle to survive in the oppressive wasteland of Suburbia.
I'm not here to blow sunshine up anybody's ass. We're not gonna sit around holding hands and singing Kum Ba Muthahfuggin Yah.
**Check out the new audio clip on my profile. NSFW, of course.**
Rated R For Language and Nudity. Just kidding about the nudity. Maybe.
I'm Not Kidding.
Seriously, if the F-word offends you, you should probably get the f*ck out now, because I can get pretty f*ckin pissed off sometimes. There are days when it f*ckin rains F-bombs in this muthahfuggah.

Okay... where are you??? I thought for sure I'd be able to pick you out, but the picture's too small. Yeah. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!
Ok, count four girls in from the left on the front row, straight up four rows, then a little to the left (away from the center).
Wow, that's a lot of teased hair!
I can't find you either.
I was a Sigma Kappa for one year, freshman year in collage. (but don't ask me if I can "Prove it")
That's some serious EBH* disease.

I, you'll notice, don't have bangs. I have a very tasteful, classic bob.
I can't see you behind all that bad hair.

In case anyone was wondering what happened to the ozone layer...
Mrs. Speed Racer and I recognized the smile once we realized you can click on the picture and see it bigger...
I was in college the same time as Bezzie and we were distinctly anti-EBH in the corn fields of IN.
I'm not posting my sorority photo, though. Too painful. ;)
And every single one a Communications Major...

I'm the anti-Greek.
I did Kappa Delta Pi, too - the Education Honor Society. Their parties sucked.

That is indeed Val Fisher! Good eye!!

Ah, Greek Life...
