Poo-pourri Thursday

Again, I wanted Themeless Thursdays to encompass whatever topic I feel like talking about, and somehow, despite my best intentions, the topic I keep coming back to is poop. So I guess I'm going to have to stick with Poo-pourri Thursdays. Hopefully something more interesting will come up as a topic. Someday.

Friends, please look past the fact that I took a camera into a bathroom at an elementary school. It's more like I happened to be in an elementary school when I had to pee, and I pretty much always have a camera in my purse. See? Now I don't sound like such a sicko perv. I will confess that I did laugh hysterically out loud to the point of tears in the aforementioned bathroom at the elementary school. Is that creepy?

Notice the explosive diarrhea starting before the little cartoon hiney even hits the potty seat.

And I also love the little "OK" fingers indicating that you've completed all the potty steps.

And guess what, y'all - CHERYL found Buckwheat singing Wookin' Pa Nub on You Tube!!! Be sure to check the update on yesterday's post!

Not a perv, just a mom. Seems like we notice everything about poop when we're potty training. I actually did a google search on "Pee pee in the potty" yesterday. Seems someone's actually written a song to that effect. I wonder if it has my tune though.

What I find most disturbing about the sign is they seem to have COMPLETELY skipped the whole wiping step after having said explosive poo.

They seem to have left out a very important step between sitting on the potty with explosive diarrhea and pulling up their pants. They must have some really stinky classrooms.

I had the same thought as rima and lkmanitou. HELLO!! If you're going to spell out each step, wiping is a pretty important one to remember.

In Japan, we have similar signs, complete with illustrations, in the bathrooms, but in the adult bathrooms, not the kiddy toilets. Of course, the toilet seats here are so high tech--they have bidet, blow dry, wash and massage (! nothing like getting off in the toilet!) functions, plus "flushing sounds" so you can drown out the sounds you're making without wasting water. Of course, most Japanese women seem to ignore that and still flush about 4 times during the average tinkle.

Thank you. I really needed that laugh. Now I just need a sign like that for my bathroom.

I love reading your blog. It almost always make me laugh. But since I am a retired occupational therapist and have frequently used such pictures, I feel compelled to add a serious note here. Those symbols are used to train and/or communicate with persons who have major learning problems, most frequently autistic and mentally retarded folks. You think potty training a normal child is hard, you should try a child who does not understand language.

Oh dear god! Rachele's right! There's no wiping picture!

I can see the need to illustrate the process to cover all types of learners, but I wonder if there was a way to make it look a little less explosive there!

Wow...that was...something.

Always carry a camera. Always.

Eww, no wiping in that set of instructions.

haha. That's funny. I love kids. I wonder what happened to prompt them to put up that "how to" poster. :)
